Locke’s video work has its roots in early performance/live art works where physical presence was accompanied by video/film projections or images accompanying movement based performance on monitor screens.
In later works video projections accompanying mechanical sculptures often replacing the artists own live performances.

More recently Locke has created large scale video installations.
The artists use of direct, simple imagery, her strong use of colour and the autobiographical tone which she adopts to explore the ‘human condition’ assist in the accessibility of the work.
