 Many of Locke’s projects have used a particular site or place or environment as a point of reference for work in connection with that site or place. Her earlier works and residencies, especially, show her expertise, as she involves herself in ‘creative research’ – exploring the histories of sites and places, making sensitive works in relation to them. Caroline is currently developing her sculptures as Permanent Public works. She intends to rework The Vortex machine as a public sculpture and has developed the award winning ‘Hydrophonics’ as a permanent sound fountain installed at the University of Maastricht.
